Eid al Fitr 2021

Eid al-Fitr Salah at City Jamia Masjid

Eid al Fitr will be on Thursday or Friday subject to sighting of the moon. Please await a further announcement after Maghrib.

There will be 2 jamaats:
9 am (please arrive 830 am)
10 am (please arrive 930 am)

Please note the following:

  • Come early as capacity is limited
  • Adhere to our social distancing measures and follow instructions from volunteers
  • Wear a face mask
  • Bring a prayer mat and bag for your shoes
  • Unfortunately there are no facilities for sisters this year due to building work
  • The salah will be broadcast via our radio transmitter service
  • The car park area is available but please drive with care as the surface is uneven.
  • Be mindful of neighbours if parking on the street

Eud ul Adha 2018

Eid-ul-Adha will be on Wednesday 22nd August 2018 insha’Allah at 9 AM (speech commences at 830 AM).

Eid ul Fitr 2018

The Islamic Academy of Manchester is pleased to announce the celebration of Eid Ul Fitr will be tomorrow, Friday 15th June 2018.

There will be one jamaat for Eid salah at 9 am, City Jami’ Masjid. Car park entrance: M12 4DT.

Eid-ul-Adha 2017

Eid-ul-Adha will be on Friday 1st September 2017 insha’Allah.

Eid jamaat will be at 830 AM (City Jami’ Masjid, M12 4DT).

Important dates:

– 8th Dhul Hijjah/Start of Hajj: Wednesday 30th August.

– Day of Arafah (Yawm ul Istighfar or Yawm ur Rahmah): Thursday 31st August

– Eid al-Adha / Yaum an-Nahr: Friday 1st September

The first ten days of the month of Dhul Hijjah are great in virtue and it is from the Sunnah to increase in worship and good deeds; especially fasting on the Day of Arafah.

Abu Qutadah (ra) reports that the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasallam) was asked about fasting on the Day of Arafah. He said, “It expiates for the sins of the previous year and of the coming year.” (Muslim)

The Eid Jamaat will be at 8.30 AM at City Jamia Masjid insha’Allah.

Eid ul Adha will be on Thursday 24th September 2015. Eid jamaat will be at City Jamia masjid at 9 am InshaAllah. Please note the speech by Allama Dr Khalid Mahmud will commence at 830 am.
